Introduction
Hey, Folks! Welcome to Vet it Out! with Dr. Leah. Thank you so much for stopping by. I look forward to learning, exploring, teaching, and building this new, incredible, animal-loving community together.
We’ve all been though some pretty serious challenges and significant changes over the past few years. Not only are we struggling in our personal lives, but all other creatures we cohabitate this beautiful planet with seem to be as well. And unfortunately, uncertainty still abounds. But while I was working through the pandemic, a time of extreme stress, divisiveness, and confusion, I found hope in identifying this common thread tying so many people together. Our shared love, appreciation, and even reliance on our pets, livestock, and wildlife. The human-animal bond is real, and it is powerful. Regardless of race, gender, religion, or politics, if someone is kind and compassionate to animals, then we have something in common. We can respect and relate to one another. This is the sort of hope we could all use, now more than ever.
With this common thread, I hope to create a for reliable, trustworthy source of animal related information and educational resources through Vet it Out! In addition to topics like basic veterinary care for your pets and livestock, we will explore behavior, nutrition, wildlife, hunting & fishing, rescue organizations, our food supply, medical research, and environmental concerns. No animal related topic is off limits!
We have an incredible lineup of animal industry experts to share what their jobs, wild stories and experiences, and the challenges they face in their careers. Most importantly, how we can make things better for the animals they work with. Education is everything! The more informed we are as a society, the more animals we can help. As well as my fellow animal care professionals. Veterinary medicine is in a state of crisis, so in order to care for our beloved pets, we have to help those who care for them too! We have so much to talk about, lots to learn, and positive work to do while we become the best pet parents and stewards of the environment that we can. Let’s have some fun along the way while we are at it!
